Just kick me while I'm down!

Yesterday was a very, VERY bad day. Let's just say that when my mother called in the late afternoon, I was on my hands and knees searching the back of a cabinet for a bottle of wine. No, I wasn't going to pop the thing open on the spot and start drinking straight from the bottle! I just wanted something ready to go the second the kids were in bed for the night. Brandon and Dylan had not only pushed my buttons, they found buttons I didn't even know I had. They were behaving so badly, I questioned my parenting skills several times yesterday. By the time they finally fell asleep for nap, their room was stripped of everything except heavy furniture. (That was actually a mistake, because at one point they were running in circles in all the space I created.) I would have cried if I had a moment to myself, but I still had Owen wide awake since the boys behavior kept the baby from sleeping, too. Luckily, my husband was my knight in shining armor. He came home from work at a decent hour to take the kids off my hands. He's the best! That wine wasn't bad either.

Will we ever get well????

The next installment of my sickness log: Owen is not only teething, but he also has a sinus infection. Someone needs to stop this ride, because I seriously need to get off!

Monthly Fuller photos

Remember when I would email all of our photos every month? I kind of felt like, "Here are my photos! LOOK AT THEM!" Well, the Kodak site I've used to do that, now has the slideshow feature that I can post to this blog. And unlike the Photobucket site, I have more control over the speed of the slide shows. No more filling email inboxes. Now if you want to see them, you can just log in here. I posted January's photos dated 1/31/08.

Open wide

Russell looked at this photo and just laughed. He says Owen looks like he's saying to Brandon, "Are you sure we should be doing this???"

Even during nap time, I can't be alone

One of the many days Owen's eyes fly open the moment I put him down.
Solution: Work with him in my arms.
No wonder some moms lock themselves in the bathroom!

Owen's growing up

This last Monday Owen pulled himself up on a toy and let go. He was just standing there not sure what to do next, so he just sat down. If he's walking by 10 months, we are in some serious trouble. He's already into everything he can reach. He's discovered that if he stands up, there are some pretty good things to get into up high like Mommy's work on the desk or books stacked on the end tables. He's pretty aggressive with his brothers too. If he wants something they have, he goes in for the kill. Take no prisoners. He can yell and grab with the best of them.

The sick house

For the last couple of weeks all of us have been sick at one time or another. Today was the first day the symptoms didn't get worse than a runny nose and a cough. The worst of this wave of sickness was when both Russ & I were sick with Brandon & Dylan not feeling good and Owen just being the needy clingy baby that he is. When someone was getting better, someone else was getting worse. We are hopeful that this is the end of the yuckies.
